Definition: A cosmetic surgical procedure to increase breast size and improve shape using silicone gel-filled implants.
Procedure Steps:
1. Anesthesia: General anesthesia.
2. Incision: Made in one of three locations: in the crease under the breast (inframammary), around the areola (periareolar), or in the armpit (transaxillary).
3. Creating a Pocket: The surgeon creates a pocket for the implant either behind the breast tissue (subglandular) or beneath the chest muscle (submuscular).
4. Implant Placement: The sterile silicone implant is inserted into the pocket and positioned correctly.
5. Closing: The incisions are closed with layered sutures.
